Controlled Access: Safe Management Of In-Store Traffic Flow

Controlled access is made simple with the positioning of totems and monitors at the store entrance. These are run by sales staff via an app and by the entrance detection system. The entrance detection system, or people counter, consists of a device that counts the number of people entering and leaving the store, ensuring that the maximum capacity is never exceeded.

A dedicated app allows sales staff to monitor the number of customers entering and to intervene if necessary, preventing access where appropriate.

Clearly visible displays outside the store indicate waiting times, the distancing and hygiene measures, that must be respected, and to inform customers when they can enter.

Additional screens of various shapes and sizes in the shop window ensure adequate external communication by providing specific content and useful information to passers-by regarding the measures taken by not only the individual store but the brand overall.

The safety of both customers and sales staff is facilitated by means of a special thermal imaging camera that measures body temperature as customers enter and is directly connected to the app used by staff to monitor and manage the store.

Customer Journey: Online Planning Solutions

M-CUBE has developed a series of online solutions that allow customers to plan their customer journey remotely with a few simple options: booking a time slot, viewing queue waiting times or checking availability of products and delivery points.

Customers can book their visit to the store from home by choosing from the available time slots. An in-store sales assistant can accept or decline the booking request. Once confirmed, the customer will receive a digital booking number indicating their allotted time in which they can start their shopping experience. The same procedure applies when booking products from the store to allow visits, payment, collection, and check-out, whilst avoiding clusters of people in queues.

Alternatively, the store window or entrance displays can show a QR code for customers to scan to receive a digital waiting number and relative waiting times. Customers with a confirmed digital waiting number will be sent a notification when their time slot begins and can then move to the store entrance having previously kept a safe distance away. These systems eliminate queues and increase spacing, as well as helping consumers save time which ensures for a more enjoyable shopping experience.
